Former Smiths guitarist turned solo star Johnny Marr has been recruited to work on the soundtrack to The Incredible Spiderman 2, alongside Pharrell Williams and Hans Zimmer.
The film's director Marc Webber tweeted a picture of the dream musical line-up in the studio, with Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics also working on the project but not pictured.

Talking to Billboard, composer Hans Zimmer explained the unlikely supergroup's inception, saying: "With all of these hugely talented people wanting to join us, it was Marc who said, ‘Why not start a band?’ Marc and I have had a great start jamming with everybody, and we still have a few surprises up our sleeve."
Speaking of Inception, Johnny Marr contributed to Zimmer's score on the film, so they have worked together previously, as have Pharrell and Zimmer on Despicable Me.
So what brought the seemingly musically disaparate musicians together this time? Simple, they all love Toby Parker's alter-ego says Zimmer "That was the thing that united all of us – the great love for Spiderman".
