Arctic Monkeys have said that they have some rather large plans for next year, hinting at larger outdoor shows.

Speaking to Gigwise at the Mercury Awards this week, frontman Alex Turner was asked about the band's future plans following the continued world-domination seen following the release of AM.

"I wanna do some big shows next summer as well, you know we're not going to do Glastonbury again, but it'd be nice to something of our own perhaps next summer," he said. "Maybe an outdoor show, maybe an underwater show."

For the release of their Suck It And See album, the band played a huge gig at Sheffield's Don Valley Bowl which was a 10,000 capacity event. However with the success of AM could we see the band headlining Finsbury Park or Heaton Park perhaps?

Meanwhile, the Arctic Monkeys have regrettably had to cancel tour dates in Birmingham and Glasgow following Turner's contraction of laryngitis. The band have issued an apology and have already rescheduled the shows with all tickets remaining valid for entry to the delayed gigs.
