Musician passes away in hospice after suffering a stroke

Jack Alexander, one half of the Scottish folk duo The Alexander Brothers has passed away.
The folk music star had suffered a stroke last month and was transferred to a hospice in Ayrshire shortly after, where his relatives could be with him before his death.
Jack, alongside his brother Tom was a well-loved showbiz musician both in Scotland and across the rest of the UK, with their career being at it's strongest in the late Sixties. In 2005 they were both awarded an MBE and since then have released 60 albums in total.

During their career The Alexander Brothers performed at the Sydney Opera House as well as singing alongside Shirley Bassey at the London Palladium, before retiring from music last year due to Jack's ill health.
A statement from the Ayrshire Hospice reveals that Jack Alexander died peacefully at 1:40pm.
