Jake Bugg has admitted that he's not keen on his new album going straight to No.1 because it's likely to be knocked off the top of the charts by One Direction.
Bugg's new album Shangri La is released exactly a week before One Direction's next effort Midnight Memories goes on sale. Though it's likely that his album will head straight to No1, he's expressed his concern of having it taken away from him by the boyband.
"I've seen that One Direction's album is out the week after mine. So the question is, 'Do I wanna be number one or not?' Cos if it does go to number one, that means they'll knock me off the top spot. But I mean, what can you say? 'Yeah yeah, ha ha, they knocked you off,'" he tells Q magazine.
He added: "I mean, it would be nice to have another but you can't get greedy now, can you?"

Despite his concerns, and having previously slammed One Direction and their music, he explained in the interview that's he's intrigued about their successful longevity.
"I'm sure they're all really nice lads. I just don't like their music. But it'll be interesting to see how that all works out cos as a boyband, they seem to have hung around longer than most do. I'm just intrigued to see how it goes."
