So yet again, the BBC have predicted the new acts destined for huge things next year by publishing their Sound Of 2014 longlist. Previous winners Haim and Ellie Goulding are testament to what the promise of success can bring, but what about those great new bands that didn't make the list?
Each year, a panel of 175 music industry experts come together to choose the acts that they believe will be shining stars in the music world over the next 12 months. While we largely agree with the list, we can't help but feel for those suprise omissions and the artists who really do deserve recognition for providing fresh new sounds.
Here are our 16 bands who didn't make the longlist but probably should have, who are destined to impress in 2014.
