"The greatest record of the decade." says NME. "Will be topping lists for years to come." adds Rough Trade. "Exudes perfection from every pore" gushes Drowned In Sound. The thing is, they're all talking about different albums.

The world of music is a stange, eclectic and subjective one, and it's a rare thing for any music publication to agree on anything, let alone something as important as album of the year. So we've put together a list of everyone's favourite.

The list includes albums that have been all over this year's radios like a rash - Arctic Monkeys, Kanye West, Lorde... and some that barely got played at all - Roy Harper, Hookworms, Glynnaeshra...
