Fleetwood Mac star John McVie performed with Fleetwood Mac for the first time this week since his cancer diagnosis forced the band to cancel a string of live shows.
Fleetwood Mac scrapped a number of Australian and New Zealand shows in October 2013 after McVie was diagnosed with an unspecified form of cancer, but the full band performed their scheduled Las Vegas show on Monday 30 December, 2013. The rumours band took to the stage at the MGM Grand Garden Arena this week, and will perform on New Year's Eve at a private show in thew desert resort.
McVie has undergone treatment for cancer, with Stevie Nicks saying that performing the shows would be of benefit to him, and aid his recovery. Nicks told ABC News radio the shows would be 'really good for John" to help him "get back on the treadmill".
Fleetwood Mac were recently ruled out of the running for Glastonbury 2014, after long being one of the favourites for Worthy Farm 2014. "We're hoping to get them for 2015, but not next year," said organiser Michael Eavis, when asked by The Guardan about the likelihood of the band joining Arcade Fire as a headliner.
