The year may be young, but we've heard some brilliant new albums already
The year 2014 has barely begun and already we love it. You want to know why? We're less than two into the New Year and already we've heard a number of brilliant new albums that we are already a little smitten with. We can't wait to see what happens next
Our first musical love affairs of the year are a varied bunch too - from the chart-friendly sounds of Katy B to the brutal industrial rock of Crosses, the high-brow pop of St Vincent to the soaring folk-soul of James Vincent McMorrow, the stadium-reading romantic anthems of Elbow to the blissed out Antipodean heaven of Chet Faker. The sheer diversity on display suggests 2014 will be every bit as tricky to pigeonhole as 2013 - and that is 100% a good thing.
Check out the 2014 albums we already love here. We reckon you'll feel the same...
