Queens of the Stone Age: Josh Homme and co return to Reading and Leeds for a truly epic festival exclusive. This truly is the year that they have become a headline act.
Vampire Weekend: Ezra Koenig and chums have a reputation as one of the best live bands going. It's well earned.
Bombay Bicycle Club: With recently released new album So Long See You Tomorrow, BBC have delivered what many consider the best record of their career. Having topped the UK album charts already, their 2014 festival shows will give the band a chance to truly take the next step on the road to rock and roll superstardom.
Chvrches: Truly spine tingling stuff, the group have to be seen live to be believed. A combination of the best parts of electronica and indie, Chvrches makes for a seriously unmissable show.
Paramore: In a festival exclusive, Hayley Williams will be bringing the spirit of Fuelled by Ramen to the R L stages. A front woman to be reckoned with, they always put on a visceral live show.
I Am Legion: Just to mix things up even more and add a little hip hop infused dubstep to the line-up, I Am Legion will be joining the ranks. With their fusion of grime, hip-hop, dubstep, and drum & bass, this group will no doubt bring an intensely charged live performance to the main stage.
Wilkinson: Yet another dance act to break out of the underground scene, Mark 'Wilkinson' hit a home run when he scored a No.1 on the dance chart with his 'Afterglow' single. Soon to follow was his debut album Lazers Not Included and he also won Best Breakthrough Producer at the National D&B Awards.
Metronomy: This British electronic act will make a return to Reading and Leeds to give fans a taste of their compelling live performances. Their latest track 'I'm Aquarius' has become popular with the likes of Zane Lowe who hailed it as his Hottest Record in the World and has set the band up for the biggest year of their career. Their slot next year will also give fans a chance to see Metronomy perform their new album 'Love Letters', due March 2014, in all its glory.
Disclosure: Reading and Leeds have become more open to dance music in recent years, so they couldn't really ignore one of the biggest dance duos of 2013 on the main stage. Disclosure have revived the British dance scene with their undeniably catchy tunes including 'Latch' and 'White Noise'. So they will have no trouble filling up the arena to kick out their incredible dance anthems.
Jake Bugg: He's climbed up the festival ranks year on year having started out on Reading and Leeds' Festival Republic Stage back in 2012. Now he has a No.1 debut album and a worldwide tour under his belt, so he's sure to bring the masses for his performance on the main stage in 2014.
Blink 182: The band will surely not deny the crowd a singalong to the epic anthems 'All The Small Things' and 'I Miss You', and will also showcase new material from their much anticipated seventh studio album due for release summer 2014.
The 1975: Their indie rock sound often veers unashamedly into the realms of pop, which makes them the perfect band for a drunken festival singalong.
SBTRKT: SBTRKT wears modern interpretations of native society ceremonial masks to support his concept of anonymity - he prefers the music to speak for itself. And speak it does. His music is varied and infectious, and we can cross our fingers for a few guest performers too.
Warpaint: Following on from their acclaimed debut album The Fool. Warpaint recently released a self-titled follow up, which expertly mixes elements of psychedelic rock, pop and shoe-gaze. It's a darker, more mature offering than its predecessor, and the two albums will provide an atmospheric, dreamy set.
Annie Mac: The Radio 1 DJ has her finger well and truly on the pulse of dance and electronic music, and her DJ set is sure to be a fun and energetic crowd-pleaser.
Hozier: A rising star whose voice demands attention from the first note, Hozier combines elements of R&B, blues and soul music to provide soaring music that wouldn't be out of place in a gospel choir. His debut EP is released this Spring - catch his set before he blows up. Figuratively speaking.
Pusha T: Rising to fame as half of the hip hop due Clipse in the '90s, Pusha T has enjoyed something of a comeback recently thanks to collaborations with acts such as Kanye West, Chris Brown and Tyler, The Creator.
Krept & Konan: A newly emerging rap duo from South London, Krept & Konan have been gathering attention since the release of their debut album reached the top 20 last year with hardly any promotion.
Arctic Monkeys: We don't really need to tell you why Arctic Monkeys' set is going to be unmissable. With four huge records under their belt, the band released their fifth album AM last year, which added elements of hip hop and R&B to their already unique brand of indie rock, and provided 12 more guaranteed crowd-pleasers to add to their setlist.
