Two Door Cinema Club: Headlining a festival for the very first time, indie pop trio Two Door Cinema Club will be topping the bill at Latitude. However, will they prove themselves headliner worthy? Do they have enough of a stage presence? Will it be a "moment", or a bit of a flop? We'll have to wait and see. No pressure, lads.
Kanye West: He's got a lot of fans, but Kanye's also got a LOT of critics. The world will be watching closely when he takes his Yeezus tour to the UK for the first time, at Wireless festival. The question is, will it be a pretentious mess, or bloody amazing? Obviously, we're hoping for the latter, and we have faith in Yeezus (sorry).
Chic and Nile Rodgers: Considering Chic and Nile Rodgers played Bestival in 2013 (and not even in a headline slot), everyone was slightly puzzled by the announcement they'll be playing the last night of the Isle of Wight festival in 2014. Obviously everyone loves Chic and Nile, but are they really last night headliner status? Additionally, are we getting a little bit tired of Nile Rodgers' popping up in every song, EVER at the moment? And if we're being brutally honest, we're really sick of 'Get Lucky'. There, we said it.
Avenged Sevenfold: Avenged Sevenfold will be headlining rock juggernaut Download this year. They're pretty massive, so it's no biggie, right? Well, they'll be topping the bill alongside behemoths Linkin Park and Aerosmith, so they'll have to prove they're at their peak, and more than ready to share a stage with the biggest and the best.
Outkast: This summer, the legendary hip hop duo return after 8 years apart. Making a comeback always means that you've got something to prove, but we reckon they'll be alright - Andre 3000 and Big Boi will be playing 40 dates throughout the summer, and as Bestival takes place in September, they'll be well rehearsed. Also, what can possibly go wrong when you boast tracks such as 'So Fresh and So Clean' and 'Hey Ya!' in your repertoire?
Queens of the Stone Age/Paramore: A bit of a head-scratcher this one. QOTSA and Paramore will be sharing a stage at Reading and Leeds, with each band taking it in turns to headline and the other to open for each of the two festivals. We're not sure this is going to work - QOTSA's mature fans are very different from Paramore's teen followers, and if you're a fan of QOTSA and you're going to Reading, you're going to be a bit miffed if it turns out Paramore will be headlining and QOTSA will be supporting. Ugh, our head hurts.
Metronomy: Another band making the leap from the headlining the dance tent to topping the bill on the main stage, electro-indie outfit Metronomy will be headlining East London festival Field Day. The pressure's on as Joe Mount and co will be topping the bill alongside rock legends Pixies - but we reckon they'll put it out of the bag. Their latest album, Love Letters, has just debuted at No 7 in the charts, so they're certainly not lacking in popularity.
Damon Albarn: No Blur. No Gorillaz. Damon Albarn will be performing solo when he headlines Latitude AND EXIT Festival. Will his new material prove strong enough to keep an entire crowd captivated for an hour and a half? Will the odd heckler shout at him to "play 'Parklife'"? We can only wait...
Frank Turner: Last summer he told us that he'd love to headline Reading and Leeds in the future. After selling out London's O2 Arena, he's certainly well on his way, but he'll have to pull off his spots at headlining Kendal Calling and Standon Calling before he can enter the major leagues.
London Grammar: They may only have one critically-acclaimed album under their belts, but this summer will see the rising three-piece headline Wilderness, Festival No.6 and No Tomorrow. An impressive feat, and if they can live up to such an honour then the future is truly theirs.
Arcade Fire: They won countless awards and risen from indie heroes to a globe-conquering, Bowie-collaborating force of nature. Do they have what it takes to pull off a history-defining Glasto headline performance? We think so, we there's a hell of a lot riding on it.
