Sky Ferreira - 'Rancid Girl': This previously unheard gem leaked online in February. An acoustic ditty that leans on Sky's more tender and soothing side, but still tells that same tale of sex and uncertainty.
M83 - 'I Need You': A short but epic expanse of electronica and atmosphere, this cut from the Divergent movie soundtrack is the best thing we've heard from M83 in years. Now hurry and make a new album.
Sisyphus - 'Alcohol': A fittingly intoxicating blend of brooding electronica and seductive spoken-word brilliance from one of the best and most underrated albums of the year so far. It's pretty NSFW, but all the more awesome for it.
MO - 'Slow Love': The unmistakable highlight of an album bursting with attitude, style and imagination.
Years and Years - 'Eyes Shut': After seemingly coming from nowhere as one of 2014's most exciting and perfectly-formed new bands, it was of course 'Real' which set the world ablaze. However this slick and understated slice of r&b perfectly demonstrates their knack of slowed down, introspective tunes -packed with an utterly irresistible hookline and some seriously soulful vocals from frontman Olly Alexander. Keep your eye on these guys.
OhBoy! - 'Love And Other Difficulties': 2014 is shaping up to be an exciting year for guitar music. In a similar vein to labelmates, SISTERS, OhBoy have an exquisitely unhinged DIY sound that is somehow terrifying but infectious all at once. It's slacker pop, but they sure as hell ain't slackin'
Ghost Beach - 'Been There Before': Now this is how pop music should sound. Uplifting, carefree pop music without a hint of pretension, this is a truly spectacular example of what the band themselves dub 'tropical grit pop'.
Lykke Li - 'Du Ar Den Ende': She's always had a dark side, but this eery and beautiful haunting Swedish language number from upcoming crime movie Tommy may be a sign that she's been spending a little too much time with David Lynch (not that that's ever a bad thing, of course)
Say Lou Lou - 'Everything We Touch': We have no idea what they're singing about, but this is as close to perfect as pop can get. Why it isn't A-listed on every single radio station around the world is completely beyond us.
Crosses - 'Telepathy': Dark Depeche Mode-esque electronica, soaring rock vocals, NIN industrial beats and a deviously subversive pop chorus, this track from Chino Moreno's side-project sums up all that Crosses do best. The world needs to wake up and realise just how much of a big deal they really are.
Arthur Beatrice - 'Councillor': Aching sincerity and true intimacy that never sounds overly earnest is rare, but on the opener to their stunning debut, Working Out, Arthur Beatrice pull it off with aplomb. We can't wait to hear it live.
Janelle Monae - 'What Is Love?': If you thought Ms Monae had blown all of her soul-funk-carnival insanity on last year's Electric Lady, then you were wrong - she brings one hell of a party to the soundtrack of Rio 2.
The Weeknd - 'Drunk In Love': Beyonce has got a lot of criticism from the overly sensitive about her uber sexual ways on her latest album. Erm, they probably wanna give Abel Tesfaye's remix of 'Drunk In Love' a very, very wide berth then...
We Have Band - 'Someone': Ditching the spiky, indie-led crunch of previous releases, 'Someone' finds the band in a more downtempo, contemplatative mood, mixing tropical, electronic influences into their sound for an accomplished, uplifting slice of slick modern pop. The track has been co-produced by Tim Goldsworthy of DFA Records and LCD Soundsystem, and his influence is evident throughout.
LE1F - 'Buzz': One of the standout cuts from his latest EP Hey, 'Buzz' is a thumping, thundering futuristic slice of electronic-tinged hip hop. With its super-catchy chorus and ultra-quotable lyrics, it deserves to be a massive tune.
Cashmere Cat - 'With Me': Jittery, soulful, bewildering, mesmerising.
Actress - 'Rap': Ninja Tune is always a pretty solid sign of quality, but this sexy splash of chillwave is getting us excited for summer already.
Panama - 'Strange Feelings': Laid back house form the foundation beneath from sprawling indie soundscapes. It's just bloody gorgeous.
Kidnap Kid - 'Stronger': Shut up. Close your eyes. You are not at work. You are on a boat in Ibiza at sunset. Feeling better?
Brawlers - 'Instagram Famous': Short, sharp, pop-fuelled post-hardcore awesomeness. Good fun, this.
