Prince plays the Park Stage: His Royal Badness brought Purple Fever to the UK when his intimate Hit And Run tour rolled through London and Manchester earlier this year, sparking rumours that he'd be headlining Glasto 2014. These are rumours that he passionately denies, but it would be pretty sweet, and typical of Prince if he made a shock appearance on the Park Stage, preferably playing for about four hours.

Lana Del Rey shows up, plays new material: The 'Video Games' star has been announced to play a string of festival dates around the US and Europe this summer in support of her new album, Ultra Violence - but none in the UK yet. We say that Glasto is long overdue a touch of her pop noir majesty.

Jack White duets with Dolly Parton: The country star has already been confirmed to bring Dollywood to Glasto, which is pretty cool. She gave The White Stripes one of their biggest hits with 'Jolene', and he's said to have new material on the way too. Maybe he could make his way down to Somerset for one hell of a legendary duet?

Lorde and Disclosure repeat their BRITs collaboration: Emily Eavis has already confirmed Disclosure, and Lorde has a bunch of dates booked around Europe but none in the UK - so it looks like she could well be at Glasto too. If they're both on the line-up, it would just be plain rude not recreate their collaborative 'Royals' mash-up from the BRIT Awards.

The Black Keys prove themselves future headliners: They've already confirmed themselves to be playing Worthy Farm this June, and judging by the epic scope of their new material and hype that surrounds their upcoming album Turn Blue, Dan and Patrick are about to go from one of America's biggest blues rock exports to one of the biggest bands on the planet. We can see their set marking them as Glasto headliners of the future.

Kanye West and Jay Z reunite 'Watch The Throne': They did it with a surprise intimate gig for fans at SXSW in Texas this year, and it was epic. Kanye will be around Europe at the time, so maybe they're feeling generous enough to do it for the good folks at Glasto 2014?

Metallica play surprise show: They've been booked as an exclusive for Sonisphere, and Glasto seems to have somewhat of a phobia when it comes to heavy metal and hard rock. Still, rumours of the 'Enter Sandman' giants playing at Worthy Farm continue, so it would probably end up being a 'surprise' gig on the Park Stage or something, which would be really fun.

Daft Punk bring Random Access Memories to Glastonbury: They kick started the disco revival, absolutely owned 2013 and cleaned up at awards season - the only thing that's left for them to do is to announce some bloody live shows. What would be more ideal than Glastonbury? Nile Rodgers and Pharrell are doing the rounds this summer, so they might as well. GO ON DAFT PUNK. PLEASE.

Despacio takes over Somerset: James Murphy and 2ManyDJ's ultimate vinyl soundsystem proved itself to be pretty much the perfect clubnight after a string of shows in London and Manchester. Now, it looks like they're ready to take on the road this festival season, with a date announced at Sonar festival. Glasto is just crying out for their glorious and inclusive disco experience.

Manic Street Preachers perform The Holy Bible in full: 20 years on from their final blistering Glasto set with Richey Edwards, Nicky Wire has said that the band would love to mark the anniversary of their seminal post-punk masterpiece by playing it in full at Glastonbury this year.
