As the world celebrates the 20th birthday of Britpop this week, we're all overcome with a sense of nostalgia for the halcyon days of Pulp, Blur, Oasis, Suede et al - but we're also reminded of the insane influence that Britpop had on a generation.
In its wake came a wave of bands cut from the same musical cloth, who then disappeared as trends dictated. However, in 2014 it's striking how many of today's bands share the sounds, spirit and energy of Britpop - and do so with amazing results.
