Now with a 3rd album under her belt, a decade of experience being in the limelight and an endless list of headlines in regards to both her professional and personal life, Cheryl-now-without-the-Cole returns armed with a 15 track album. 'A Million Lights' fabricates the energy of a city night club on a Saturday night. With a helping hand from Will.I.AM on 'Crazy Things', Screw You featuring Wretch 32 and debut single 'Call My Name' signalling every radio channels’ radar.

The famous A List Geordie brings to the table summer anthems and predictable dance tunes but what sets her apart is opening track 'Under The Sun' and 'Girl In The Mirror', the dynamic and not too cliché lyrics are understandably addictive. It goes without saying Cheryl is not someone who keeps her lips sealed and whilst testing her vocal talent in 'Boys Lie' Cheryl’s secured a confident, what-you- see-is-what-you-get image.

'A Million Lights' incorporates her glamorous and chic identity but she doesn’t forget where she comes from and with lyrics “show them what you’ve got/drop it like it’s hot girl” in the Lana Del Rey-penned 'Ghetto Baby' the album is a test to see how far Cheryl has come since her Girls Aloud days.

Ballads 'Mechanics of The Heart', 'Telescope' and 'Last One Standing' makes Cheryl Cole look as if she can do it all. The mix of club anthems and slower, more melodic songs nearer to the end of the album can be mistaken for a confusion of what she wants to be but even the songs without a feature of one of her Hollywood friends goes to show she can do it all by herself, without Girls Aloud, without the likes of Snoop Dogg and definitely showing former manager Louis Walsh a thing or two.

Where she goes from here is a question but for now 'A Million Lights' will do as 2012’s gym work out session or pre-party album.
