'A gift for the dancefloor massive'

Having built a loyal and dedicated fan base through remixing everyone from Bloc Party to the Sugababes and intense live shows, Hadouken! are set to grab a mainstream audience with this album, partly due to the music scenes growing fondness of bass music, and the general brilliance of the new record.

As the album title suggests ‘Every Weekend’ has a distinctive living for the weekend feel and every track wouldn’t be out of place on the dance floors of the nation (and no doubt will become as such). There is of course the distinctive Hadouken! tone of the use of synth and keyboards and drums, as well as vocalist James Smith's contribution, jumping from smooth vocals to snarling rhymes.

The track listing itself reads like a heavy weekend, and invariably sounds as such. Beginning with a build-up on opening track ‘The Vortex’ to start things off, then the club coming together on ‘As One’ before descending into penultimate track, aptly named ‘The Comedown’ before the much more mellow end track ‘Daylight’. They also hark back to their days of remixing by sampling The Supreme's 1966 track ‘You Keep me Hanging On’ on previous single ‘Bad signal’.

All in all this is a successful hybrid of bass, dub step and grime which Hadouken! should be proud of, it would seem that the dance floor masses have been given a gift in this album. Carefully crafted, it is a culmination of everything the band represents and are deserving of the success and recognition that this bass-masterpiece is set to deliver.
