Electronic super group Moderat have surfaced after months in hiding. Finally releasing their hugely anticipated second album, Moderat II.
The group, (made up of Apparat, aka Sascha Ring, and Modeselektor, duo Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary), have teamed up to collaborate once again since their massively successful first album, Moderat way back in 2009. After securing their place in electro fans hearts, their follow up certainly establishes them as - quite rightly - legends.

From start to finish this outstanding follow up makes for both easy listening, whilst containing a number of potential dance floor rave anthems. Highlights of the record include the amazing, cinematic ‘Bad Kingdom’ and ‘Let in the Light’ featuring echoing beats, reminiscent of Telepopmusik’s ‘Breath’. ‘Milk’ is an easy favourite with its gradual suspense, heavy bass and synth beat throughout. Whilst the infectious ‘Gita’s powerful yet hauntingly beautiful vocals and contrasting textural sounds make it one of the many stand out tracks on the album.
This second release concludes that the group are here to stay in the world of electronic music (if not conquer entirely) with their dark yet uplifting percussion, synth and bass teamed with powerful vocals, they’re pretty much top notch in all that they endeavour. When listening to Moderat II only one word springs to mind, addictive. Their brilliance of mashing together electronic elements and sounds creates a unique, fluid harmony that is Moderat.
