Earlier this week, Franz Ferdinand played two sold out shows in London and Glasgow, to mark their comeback, and launch of their fourth studio album Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Actions. They proved they still had the pulling power many of their indie peers have lost over the years.
The ten track album, opens with recent single ‘Right Action', an invigorating track that, on first listen, is uncannily similar to their debut single 'Take Me Out', which is both reassuring and slightly disappointing. The album continues, like previous releases, with catchy indie dance songs, witty lyrics and biting bass, as well as the more subdued tones of frontman Alex Kapranos voice in ‘Fresh Strawberries, and album closer ‘Goodbye Lovers And Friends'. Stand out tracks include the brilliant and witty 'Bullet', a short snappy song which will be the boys next single - if they know what’s good for them.

The album is as to be excepted; very good, and sounding very much like the Franz Ferdinand of old. Anyone who saw them perform first time around will be pleased to hear that still they play as a good a show as they became known for in their heyday.
The album sees them return to the greatness that we have come to expect of them, although if you are after a more developed sound, then prepare to be disappointed. Franz have done what they do so very well, produced an up tempo indie dance floor staple, that should win them over a generation who were too young to appreciate them ten years ago. A Mercury Music Prize winner it is not, but a successful album to be proud of it is.
