Foxes arrives on stage ready for fun. The wide grin plastered on her face for tonight’s sold out show makes you aware of that the minute the lights go down. Hot off the heels of releasing her debut album and a string of high charting singles (not to mention a Grammy for her collaboration with Zedd) it seems Foxes has achieved a lot in such a small amount of time.
But after tonight, it’s clear why: she’s one of a kind.
A large portion of her debut album 'Glorious' is played and sounds just that, in concert. Adorned with polished and pretty synth patterns, tracks such as 'Holding Onto Heaven' and 'Youth' have a rapturous effect and within seconds the crowd have as big of a smile as Foxes herself. Her kookiness comes off undeniably sincere and effortlessly forces the audience to lose all inhibitions.
However, underneath all the polish, bright lights and more electronic moments, you realise that Foxes doesn't need to mask anything. Any naysayers who propose that Foxes is simply another mass-produced act to put vocals on EDM tracks is sorely mistaken. Her lung capacity is astounding and the sheer amount of energy she exudes when bouncing on stage is something to be marvelled at.
On 'Youth' Foxes pleads, “don’t tell me our youth is running out.” Yet after tonight, there is not a hint of a doubt in anyone’s mind that Foxes is not filled to the brim with youthful energy. Beaming just as brightly as when the show began, you can’t help but feel happy for her. Young she may be, but after tonight you’d think Foxes has done this since she graced the world; there aren't many people (older or younger) that can make a crowd have just this much fun.
