More Matt Harding
Electronica folk artist Matt Harding has issued ‘Commitment’ on Moshi Moshi records, a journey that is often contrary to the title. Opting for an ambient approach, which is often self indulgent, Harding's latest offering was recorded at home and quite frankly, it sounds like it. It smacks of a dodgy DIY job!
The paint he uses is often one shade (grey) and the pattern's in his music just don’t add up to anything substantial. This is probably down to the laziness of the arrangements and ideas, which sound (sadly) half baked.
When Harding finally does get around to singing in his monotonous voice, you're thinking why bother. This twelve-track excursion won’t take you any further than the artist’s bedroom, which is fine if you appreciate watching paint dry.
