More Scott Matthews

In 2006, Scott Matthews achieved the reputation, “The next Jeff Buckley” on the back of his debut album ‘Passing Stranger’. Now surely you can’t get any more praise than that. Obviously not, in Matthew’s view. He’s re-releasing the lot. But it’s hard to shunt his music solely because of this attempt to gain more record sales, especially with something as haunting and curious as 'Elusive.' Backing vocals shine through the achingly hearty whimpers of Matthew’s voice, equipped with an expertly played acoustic guitar, corresponding to every note he sings with perfection. So fans can be upset by these re-releases as much as they want, but if it puts them off being fond of songs like this, then something’s wrong.
