Californian five-piece The Neighbourhood performed a stunning show at London's Heaven in early May, 2013, showcasing tracks from their brilliant debut album, I Love You. It's one of the most-played albums of the year in the Gigwise office.
The band, who have been likened to a 'male Lana Del Rey', are making waves with their dark, guitar-led pop sound and after tasting underground success with atmospheric singles such as 'Sweater Weather' and 'Let It Go', are set for big things in 2013 - and beyond.
Their Heaven show was a sweaty, hip-grinding experience, with frontman Jesse Rutherford proving himself one of the most promising new stars on the indie scene as he turned albums tracks such as 'What' into panting-sex epics and belted out future classics such as 'Afraid' and 'Everybody's Watching Me'.
Ahead of their London gig, we caught up with The Neighbourhood, who performed album-opener 'How' exclusively for Gigwise, and discussed their rise to fame and the expectations they put on their own work. Check it out below.
