After several years in record label limbo, US rapper Eve returns this week with new album Lip Lock - a collection of fierce hip-hop anthems, peppered with mainstream radio hits and some big name collaborations.

In the decade since her last album release, the star has bounced from one bad record deal to the next, but after deciding to take things into her own hands and work independently, Eve is back with one of the strongest offerings from a female hip-hop star in recent memory.

We caught up with Eve in London to discuss her return to music - which even she admits nearly didn't happen during her years out of the spotlight, how she prefers to avoid confrontation with fellow hip-hop artists - unlike some of her musical peers.

Check out our interview with Eve below. Lip Lock is out now.
