Music and alcohol - it's a match made in heaven, as the organisers of Bushmills festival know all too well. Set in the whiskey maker's Belfast factory, the annual event is growing in popularity and international interest - this year attracting the likes of Jake Bugg and Of Monsters & Men to play the unique festival.
In June 2013, we headed over to Ireland to experience the event first hand. We saw a lot of music and drank A LOT of whiskey. With a capacity of only 500, it was a world away from the 180,000 people we have recently experienced at Glastonbury.
At the festival we spoke to the festival organisers - plus some of the brilliant bands on the line up. "It's brilliant," said Jake Bugg ahead of his huge show at Glasto. "I enjoy playing intimate shows. It's going to be acoustic, which i'm looking forward to and it's nice to have variation and a bit of a change."
Of Monsters & Men however we so inspired by the event, we may even hear songs influenced by whiskey on their eagerly awaited second album. Or maybe they were just under the influence...
Check out our experience at Bushmills live below - and watch out for a full Jake Bugg interview soon.
