The announcement of this year's Mercury Music Prize nominees is imminent, and among the possible contenders are acoustic / electronic duo Snow Ghosts, who mix acoustic, electronic and orchestral sounds into their music - along with a dark interest in death. "We're both a bit obsessed with darkness and death, because I don't think people address it enough," singer Hannah Cartwright tells Gigwise. "It's fascinating. We walk around all day with this huge impending thing and no one talks about it, no one thinks about it."
We caught up with Cartwright and Snow Ghosts partner Ross Tones during their recent gig at London's St Pancras Church for a stunning performance of their track, 'Gallows Strung' - and it's not nearly as gloomy as the title (and death obsession) suggests. Check it out below. Album A Small Mumuration is out now.
