Weezer have uploaded a Youtube video teaser, revealing that they are back in the studio and recording new music. Check it out below.
The short 20 second clip is mocked up to look like VHS footage and includes distorted visuals and audio of the band playing in the studio. The series of clips are then followed up with a piece of white text on a black background stating: "in the studio". The clip was uploaded to the band's Youtube channel.
This seems to confirm that the band are working on their first new material since 2010's Hurley. Also it follows on from the news last year that frontman Rivers Cuomo was reuniting with producer Ric Ocasek. The band worked with Ocasek on the seminal Green Album and Blue albums which topped the charts in the 90s and 00s.

Last month the band embarked on the five-day Weezer cruise with Cat Power, Toro y Moi, DIIV, the Cribs and Ash, where they debuted a new song called "Back to the Shack". The song includes the lyrics: "Sorry guys/I didn't realize/That I needed you so much."
As of yet the band are keeping a release date for the new material under their hats, but as with many band's who are currently in the studio it looks like a late 2014 release could be in order.
