The international R&B and soul scene is better in 2014 than it has been in years, with a return to old school sounds and artists seeking classic inspiration in their sounds. New to the fray is Londoner D/C - and this guy is brilliant.
Mixing the authenticity of Frank Ocean, the rough edges of Willis Earl Beal and the distinct UK edge of fellow newcomer Raleigh Ritchie, D/C is a truely exciting prospect on the music scene. Today he premieres brand new 'I Got Love' on Gigwise - and it is a beautiful listen. The track blends delicate, acoustic production with D/C's gruff, soulful tones and an understated hook. It is simple, but oh so effective. Check it out below, first.
The multiple-instrumentalist has previously described himself as 'the only black cellist in Brixton', and mastered his craft studying in Portland, Oregon. He has previously worked with hotly-tipped dance newcomers Gorgon City and found fans in Lovebox headliners, Chase + Status. Expect very big things indeed.
