Miley Cyrus broke down in tears part way through a performance of 'Landslide' yesterday (4 April), which was a tribute to her dog Floyd, who died this week. Watch the emotional performance below.

The singer was performing a soundcheck in Boston, to which she had invited fans to watch, when she spoke of the death of her Alaskan Klee Kai.

"It's going to be hard to do this next song, I'm not sounding myself, I don't feel myself." said Cyrus, "I just wanna do one song... I'm sure you guys already know but the reason I'm upset is because my dog, I shouldn't say he was my favourite, but he was my favourite, and he passed away."

Cyrus continued, "I just wanna do a song for him, because we used to always listen to Fleetwood Mac together, it was his favourite song to go on runs to, so I want to do this song for Floydie. This song is 'Landslide'."

Cyrus got about halfway through the song before breaking down in tears, missing several lines at around 2.15 in the video below. She subsequently recovered her composure and completed the song.

The singer has taken to Twitter several times this week to express her grief over the death of Floyd, the most concerning of which said, "I know I don't mean it but I wish he would've taken me with him."

The singer also became upset during covers of Coldplay's 'The Scientist' and Lana Del Rey's 'Summertime Sadness.'
