Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong joined The Replacements onstage for most of their Coachella set last night (18 April) after Paul Westerberg suffered a back injury.
The singer played guitar for the band, as their own frontman spent most of the festival set sitting on a sofa with an injured back.
Armstrong, whose own music has been heavily influenced by The Replacements, told the impressive crowd: "Dreams really do come true!"

The group + Armstrong played some of their classic tracks, including 'Alex Chilton', 'Can't Hardly Wait' and, as shown above, 'IOU'.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the set was better received and better attended than the band's weekend one Coachella set, as a consequence of their guest member.
Weekend two of Coachella festival takes place this weekend (18-20 April), in Indio, California.
