Owl John is a sort of artistic exorcism for Scott Hutchison, otherwise known as the frontman of Frightened Rabbit. It is a project that he has described as "for the good of the band", a creative outlet that has allowed him to return fresh to the studio. This week saw the release of brilliant his self-titled album, a brilliant piece of work that will surprise many F'Rabbit fans, often heading down a darker path.

This week, Hutchison brought Owl John to Hackney's Oslo for an intimate show with fellow Scots The Twilight Sad. We caught up with Scott backstage to record an exclusive acoustic session of new single 'Red Hand'. It's a powerful upbeat, guitar driven slice of searing folk meets post-rock that creates memorable melodies, more than exhibiting Hutchison's skill as a songwriter.
