The trailer for the hugely anticipated NWA biopic 'Straight Outta Compton' premiered online during the Grammys last night.
The trailer begins in black and white with Ice Cube and Dr. Dre in Compton reminiscing on the impact they had and how the music of themselves, Eazy E, MC Ren and DJ Yella touched the world. The video then bounces back to the Eighties and the actors portraying the group take over, complete with bouncing hydraulics and a heavy police presence.

Tracing the roots right back to the 1992 Rodney King riots right and the banning of protest single 'F Da Police', the film will show the rise of NWA - arguably one of the most iconic and important rap groups in history.
Speaking to MTV ahead of the trailer's release, Ice Cube produced the following statement:
“In 1984, I met Compton’s best DJ. His name was Dr. Dre, the cousin of my homie Sir Jinx. He liked the neighborhood rhymes I was spitting and we started hanging out all the time. Talking and thinking music.
“A couple of years later, Dr. Dre’s little hustling friend Eric (Eazy-E) Wright started coming around,” he continued. “We all created a song together called “Boyz-N-The-Hood” … and the world would never be the same.”
'Straight Outta Compton' will be released in cinemas on 14 August.
