Gigwise is a British online music news site. We’ve been at the forefront of digital music journalism since 2001. Our focus? Bringing you the latest music news, photos, album reviews, festival coverage, concert information, and video content.
Our Roots
We started in Liverpool as a simple gig listings site. Our goal was to help local music fans find great shows. Over time, we grew. We added news, reviews, and interviews to our mix. In 2006, we made a big move to London. This shift helped us expand our reach and deepen our coverage.
What We Do
At Gigwise, we’re all about music. Every day, we work to bring you:
- Breaking news from the music world
- In-depth album reviews
- Exclusive artist interviews
- Comprehensive festival coverage
- Concert ticket information
- Engaging video content
Our Achievements
We’re proud of how far we’ve come. In December 2010, we were the UK’s 20th most-visited music news website. We even ranked above NME.COM in the comScore reports. That’s not too shabby for a site that started as a local gig guide!
In 2013, we were nominated for ‘Best Music Media Brand’ at the Music Week awards. It was a great honor and a sign that our hard work was paying off.
Our Partnerships
We love working with others in the music world. Over the years, we’ve:
- Hosted the Indie Idle band competition for Camden Crawl festival
- Launched Snowboming festival’s King of the Mountain competition
- Had our own arena at Get Loaded In The Park in London
- Hosted a stage at Liverpool Sound City
- Worked with Romania’s Electric Castle Festival
- Partnered with Mophie mobile for Isle of Wight Festival coverage
- Hosted a virtual stage at the first digital SXSW Festival
These partnerships help us bring you even more great content and support up-and-coming artists.
Our Evolution
We believe in always improving. We’ve had several redesigns over the years to make our site better for you. Our latest update came in 2021, coinciding with our 20th anniversary. Speaking of which…
Celebrating 20 Years
In July 2021, we marked our 20th birthday in style. We published our first-ever print edition, featuring Self Esteem on the cover. It was a special moment for us – a chance to bring our digital expertise to the printed page.
