About
Formed in 2008, the Hard Rock/Blues band DeepSeaGreen consists of brothers Jon (guitar) and Daniel
Jefford (drums), Trent Halliday (vocals/guitar) and Marco Menestrina (bass). All the members, with the
exception of Italian born Marco, originally hail from the East End of London.
They perform original music inspired by a broad range of rock and rock roots music, from song-smiths and traditionals, through blues, surf, garage, and psychedelia, but with a modern edge. Their sound has been variously compared to The Black Keys, Them Crooked Vultures, Black Sabbath and The White Stripes.
In January 2010, after a year of gigging, the band released their debut recording, a ten track self-titled
live studio album, including singles “Black Maria” (4 months in The Reverbnation London top 100) and “On the Steps of Summer” (over 2 months in the Tourdates unsigned top 20). They gigged extensively throughout that year and in March 2011 recorded “Valsorda" a six track EP that much better captured the veracity and energy of their live shows. This was released over April in Streaming, Digital and CD formats.
