Dinosaurs shows Guetta how dance music is done

Have you listened to what passes as dance music these days? Depressing isn't it.

In recent years, pop and r&b artists have hijacked club sounds to score easy Top Ten hits - with David Guetta, Will.i.am and Pitbull among some of the worst offenders.

So it's just as well we have the likes of Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs to remind us that dance music doesn't have to be soul-sucking, chart topping dross.

TEED's latest single, 'Tapes & Money' is the sort of dexterous electronica we've come to expect from Oxford-based Orlando Higginbottom. The track mixes innovative beats with melancholy vocals while building towards an epic, electronic crescendo which feels bigger and better than any power-pop beats currently swamping the airwaves.

So sit back and enjoy 'Tapes & Money'. Or, better still, get up and have a dance. Here's a reminder of how good dance music can sound when someone puts a little thought, instead of a lot of money, into it.
