Arrest and crime levels fell dramatically at last year's Glastonbury Festival compared to the years before - with both drug arrests and general crime levels shown to be down in newly published figures. Let's hope 2016 is lower still.
Thanks to a freedom of information request made by The Bristol Post, police revealed that the amount of cannabis confiscated fell by nearly 6,000 grams between 2010 and 2015, while there was no LSD confiscated at last year's event, compared to 80 doses in 2010.
Drug usage hasn't fallen completely though (and it's worth pointing out that fewer confiscations doesn't necessarily mean fewer drugs) - there were only 40 esctasy tablets discovered in 2010, but last year that had risen to 880.
Overall though, the number of arrests for drug-related offenses fell from 125 in 2010 to 54 in 2015, while crime levels in general also fell. In 2010, 453 crimes were reported to police at the festival, but last year, there were 236.
No acts have been officially announced for Glastonbury - though the festival's booker recently confirmed that Grimes will perform, while other rumours include AC/DC, who will be in the country around the time of the festival, Foo Fighters, Guns N' Roses and Foo Fighters.
