ABBA reunite for the first time in nearly a decade

The band still refused to be photographed together on the red carpet

All four members of ABBA reunited on-stage for the first time in eight years last night (20 January) - but, sadly, they didn't perform.

The members all turned up for the opening of Mamma Mia! The Party - a Snew Stockholm restaurant based on the Greek taverna in the wildly successful musical. As well as Mediterranean food, patrons will also be treated to "daredevil stunts, Greek Gods, flirts waiters and perhaps a zorba and an ouzo or two."

The band - who comprised married couples Agnetha Faltskog and Bjorn Ulvaeus and Anni-Frid Lyngstad and Benny Anderson - split back in 1982 after both sets of couples separated. They once reportedly turned down a $1 billion offer to reform.

Their new reunion isn't a sign of anything bigger though - as Bjorn Ulvaeus told The Guardian, "We are here to party."

Even last night, in fact, the four arrived separately and refused to be photographed together on the red carpet.
