Members of Foo Fighters, Pantera, Metallica and Slayer performed Motorhead’s classic ‘Ace of Spades’ in tribute to the late, great Lemmy.
They came together at Dimebash, the annual celebration of the late Pantera guitarist Dimebag Darrell. Dave Grohl was joined by Pantera singer Phil Anselmo, Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo and former Slayer drummer Dave Lonbardo to pay tribute to Lemmy Kilmister.
The Dimebash tribute to Lemmy comes almost two weeks after Grohl and Trujillo delivered moving eulogies at Kilmister’s memorial service in LA.
"I think what everybody has always known or at least learned today is that Lemmy was not only that kind of… whiskey-drinking rock and roll star, but he had the biggest heart and set such a great example because he was so kind to everyone," Grohl said at Kilmister’s memorial service on 9 January.
The 2016 Ride for Dime Dimbash raised funds for the Ronnie James Dio Stand Up and Shout cancer fund. This year’s Dimebash also featured appearances by members of Alice in Chains, Type O Negative, Danzig, Machine head and more.
