Here's a guitar without strings that nobody asked for

Thanks to the wonders of technology, you can pay $400 to not learn the guitar

Have you ever considered learning the guitar, but thought to yourself, ‘Actually, I’d rather spend 300 pounds on something with hundreds of buttons that is equally complicated, but doesn’t sound as good’? Then you’re in luck!

Actually, Magic Instruments’ Rhythm Guitar is supposed to make playing the guitar easier. That’s because each button (and there are many) represents an entire chord, so you never have to press more than one at a time while you’re strumming.

The trouble is, there are hundreds of almost identical buttons, and to memorise what each of them represents would probably take as long as it would to learn the ten or so basic chords. It also means if someone hands you their old guitar for a jam session, you have to say, ‘No, I need my special button guitar, with buttons instead of strings,’ - by which point they’ve probably changed their minds about jamming.

As The Verge reports, the Magic Instruments Rhythm Guitar launched on Indiegogo today.
