Johnny Marr has likened Nigel Farage’s Brexit campaign to Nazi propaganda in a tweet that has since gone viral.
Ahead of next week’s referendum, which will decide whether or not the UK will leave the European Union, the former Smiths guitarist made his position on the matter abundantly clear.
He posted a photo of UKIP leader Nigel Farage standing beside a bus emblazoned with a photo of queueing refugees with the caption “BREAKING POINT.” Next to it, he placed an eerily similar still from “an actual Nazi propaganda film.”
It seems the tweet resonated with many people who are fed up with the Brexit campaign’s anti-immigration scare-mongering - it was retweeted over 12,000 times.
