Metallica have announced a series of special events in London to celebrate the release of their album Hardwired To Self Destruct, including a show for 850 people at The House of Vans near Waterloo on release day (18 November)

The gig has been put on for charity called The Railway Children, who assist children who live alone and at risk on the streets in the UK, India and East Africa. To have a chance of going you enter a competion here and if you win you are asked to leave £20 at the door as a donation.

This is a rare opporunitiy to see band who traditionally rock stadiums and arenas in an intimate space.

On Thursday, 17 November, the band will be heading to the HMV store on Oxford Street to meet fans and sign autographs at midnight! This is the first time the band will have done an in store signing in the UK.

Hardwired…To Self-Destruct is Metallica’s first studio album since 2008’s multi-platinum Death Magnetic. The album was produced by Greg Fidelman, who engineered and mixed Death Magnetic.

We've heard three tracks from the album so far including, ‘Atlas, Rise!’, which was released on Halloween. It continues in the high octane, riff-heavy style that 'Moth Into Flame' and 'Hardwired', also early tasters of the album, are.

The tracks show Metallica holding nothing back and the band are on electriying form. Metallica evidently still have so much more to offer even over 30 years into their career. Their album will be a smash and the gig in London unmissable.
