‘Mr Brightside’ stars The Killers have announced Hyde Park British Summer Time to extend their their 2017 European tour plans and will play on 8 July.
The show is only their second announced gig of the European festival season so far the Las Vegas band - they have already been announced for Bilbao BBK.
The band, who are expected to release a new album to follow on from 2012’s Battle Born, are supported by Tears For Fears, Elbow, and White Lies.
We spoke with White Lies singer Harry McVeigh about what supporting The Killers at Hyde Park means to them: “We love the Killers and they were a big band for us growing up, as teenagers we really adored them.
"A lot of their music was very inspiring to us when we were starting to write the very first White Lies songs. We played with them a couple of times before and they’re a great live band, I think Brandon’s such a great singer.
“Also Tears For Fears are playing and that’s very exciting for us. Charles and I especially are just huge Tears For Fears fans – we absolutely love them. To see that live is going to be one for the bucket list for us – I’m very much looking forward to the show.
In other Killers news, Paul McCartney recently joined Brandon Flowers and co on stage at Chelsea football club owner Abramovich’s New Years Eve do at his £58 million estate St.Barts.
Also, in a recent flurry of activity that can only mean the new album is on its way, they reissued their modern classic, Hot Fuss, last week. It's now out on heavyweight black and white vinyl and includes two bonus tracks: 'Peace of Mind' and 'Read My Mind (Pet Shop Boys Stars are Blazing Mix)'
