Savages have been added to the bill for this year's NOS Alive festival in Portugal.
Following frontwoman Jenny Beth's announcement stating that the band will take a break in 2017 after a year of extensive touring, Savages will take to the stage in Lisbon this summer, with a performance at the huge NOS Alive.
The band will join the likes of Foo Fighters, The xx, The Weeknd and Depeche Mode and Ryan Adams on the incredible 2017 lineup. Other previously announced artists include The Kills, Warpaint, Phoenix and Alt-J.
NOS Alive is fast becoming more and more well-known as one of the best festivals in the world. This year, reviewer Andrew Trendell said: " NOS Alive so simply put all of the elements in place to be one of the greatest live events of the year. Could this be the ultimate remedy for the post-Glastonbury blues?".
Jenny Beth previously revealed in an interview with Loud & Quiet at the end of last year that heavy touring had taken its toll on the band. "We're taking a break from Savages because we haven't taken a break between the two records at all - we took a month, I remember." Though it now appears we won't be waiting as long as it first seemed.
Beth also hinted that solo material is in the works "I’ve kept writing a lot so I’ve got a lot of songs right now that I don’t know what I’m going to do with yet." she said. "They’re for something else, not Savages".
Jenny Beth will also perform at Dutch festival GRAUZONE next weekend, with a solo piano show.
Last year's NOS Alive saw performances from Radiohead, Arcade Fire, Robert Plant, Pixies, The Chemical Brothers and many more.
