In the incraesingly competitive world of music festivals it takes something truly special to make you stand out, for some it's more of a 'vibe' thing, for others it's all about who's playing, and in some cases you get a beautiful mix of both. Chicago's Lollapalloza, held 3-6 August in Grant Park, certainly has that je ne sais pas and some huge names to boast.
Focusing largely around acts that are in the midst of promo cycle with their albums, there's some of the exciting bands we predicted to make comebacks this year, and many more, all decorating the poster and making us increasingly excited for festival season to start.
The pick of the bunch are surely those mentioned above - Ryan Adams will be especially great as his latest album, Prisoner, is one of the best rock albums of the decade. Furthermore, Run The Jewels' latest LP is exceptional, and they can bring the house down with their live show, so we're keen to see the huge crowd's turning up for that.
There are some exciting smaller names on the bill, too. The London Souls, who previously supported Catfish and the Bottlemen on tour, are an amazing live band. American indie sorts The Districts have something about them, too.
