The Killers have recorded a promo video for the upcoming Mayweather vs McGregor boxing match, which sees Brandon and co take to the ring to perform new single ‘The Man’. Check out the clip below.
In case you hadn’t noticed yet, The Killers love Las Vegas. And with Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor heading to the T-Mobile Arena in the band’s hometown this weekend, it seems a fitting choice to soundtrack the event.
Kitted-out in a typically fabulous gold suit, Flowers and his band mates perform the huge single in a boxing ring plonked in the middle of the desert. The performance is cut together with footage of fights and other Vegas delights.
Speaking of the clip to Rolling Stone, frontman Flowers said: “I think there’s a symbiotic relationship between using a song like ours, Las Vegas and a boxing arena. Business of boxing. It seemed to make sense. And I just wanted an excuse to wear this suit again. Really the main reason.”
Meanwhile, the band are due to release their long-awaited fifth album Wonderful Wonderful on September 22, which follows 2012’s Battle Born. Stonking single 'The Man' was followed by the release of second track 'Run For Cover' last month.
In support of the record, The Killers will hit UK arenas in November. Shows are scheduled for Manchester, Leeds, Glasgow, Sheffield and more - with the tour coming to a close with two dates at London’s O2 Arena. Check out full tour dates below.
The band returned to the UK this summer with an intimate surprise performance at Glastonbury, followed by a huge sold-out Hyde Park show.
