Are you still in two minds whether to shell out for Villains, the new album from Queens Of The Stone Age? Then allow the band’s back catalogue to help you make your final decision. Well, we say “final” but, y’know, you can change your mind any time to you want, right?
But yes… Queens Of The Stone Age’s back catalogue. It tells you how it feels about the latest edition to its number in a comedy video that the band has shared and you can watch below. Interviewed by Liam Lynch – some of you might remember his one-hit wonder ‘United States Of Whatever’ from 2003 – each of Queens Of The Stone Age’s albums – voiced by Josh Homme – say what they think of Villains.
Queens Of The Stone Age’s eponymous debut claims to be “too high” to respond to Lynch’s questions, while Rated R appears to have been binge watching all three seasons of Fargo (and probably the movie too) by replying, “yah” to every question.
Elsewhere, Songs For The Deaf announces that it refuses to listen to Villains on the basis that “Nick [Oliveri]’s not on it” while Lullabies To Paralyze simply justifies its own existence.
The broken lightbulb on Era Vulgaris is having none of it, declaring: “I’ll tell you about some villains. They’ve got me working in their office like a chump… I used to be on their album covers!” as …Like Clockwork’s vampire muses, “We were quite a spectacle, weren’t we? Quite a spectacle.”
Have a look for yourself…
