Wolf Alice have unveiled the video to single 'Beautifully Unconventional', taken from the forthcoming album, Visions of a Life. Watch it on Gigwise below.
The video sees the band ditching the denim and glam up like old Hollywood stars in the visual which accompanies the immediately grabbing two minute track.
It's a cut that hints towards the second album - out 29 September on Dirty Hit Records - almost certainly hitting the top of the charts. There just aren't many releases hitting this level of indie pop gold.
The accomplished feel of the song and video together is the work of band who've poured everything towards being the best they can be. Ill-content to allow a Mercury Prize nominated debut - that includes live favourites 'Fluffy' and 'Bros' - swell their ego's they, seem to have hit new heights with the recent releases.
Of the video, which premiered on FADER, Rowsell said: “This song is a celebration of all your non-conforming friends.
A celebration of individuality and the adventures that come with embracing that. For me personally I imagined me and my mate Hannah as Christian Slater and Winona Rider in Heathers albeit looking nothing like them. The video has nothing to do with the song - I just didn't want to have a mullet anymore, seeing as lots of people tore me to pieces in our last video, so it was an excuse to wear a wig!”
'Beautifully Unconventional' sits on an album that shows a band who've sharpened their palate as it's packed with shoegazey guitars ('Heavenward'),, St.Etienne-esque indie dream pop vocals ('Don't Delete The Kisses') and heavy punk ('Yuk Foo') - it packs a punch.
