Guess who’s back? Back again? Shady’s back – tell a friend. Ahem. So yes, Eminem is all set to return with brand spanking new material in the shape of new album and we know so because his producer Mr Porter said so.

In a video posting from a teasing and grinning Mr Porter, the producer says: “Am I working on Eminem’s album? No.”

Huh? Wha..?

“We are done. How about that?”

Ah, that’s more like it. So when is the album coming out?

“Don’t you want to know! Wouldn’t you like to know?”

Well, yeah, dude, we would. But you ain’t telling us. Anything else?

“I’ll tell you this: it is amazeballs!”

Well, yes, but you would say that, wouldn’t you?

Still, it’s fair to say that new material definitely falls into the category marked “Highly Anticipated”. It’s now been four years since the release of his last album, The Marshall Mathers LP 2. As reported in Gigwise back in August, Eminem’s headline set at this year’s Reading Festival showed that the rapper’s popularity shows absolutely no signs of abating.

“The main star of the evening was Eminem and his set the most highly-anticipated and well attended of the weekend: you couldn't get anywhere near unless you arrived early, it was seriously dense,” reported Gigwise’s big cheese Cai Trefor.

He continued: “But what the show did thrive on was pulling out all the stops to ensure his headline status and endemic existence in the upper echelon of the industry is deserved. A world class guitar band as good as, if not better, than Kendrick Lamar's were there and brilliant to watch. Guest vocalists, fireworks, and Trump digs were also all on show.”

Not that Eminem has been completely quiet. His last solo track ‘Campaign Speech’ dropped in 2016 so we can’t be that far off.

So stand by - the return of Eminem is imminent. Try saying that after a few sherbets.
