Marilyn Manson bassist Twiggy Ramirez – real name Jeordie White - has been fired from the band after the bassist was accused of rape by Jack Off Jill singer Jessicka Addams.

Taking to Twitter, Manson wrote: "I have decided to part ways with Jeordie White as a member of Marilyn Manson. He will be replaced for the upcoming tour. I wish him well."

He added on Instagram: "This is a sad day."

Addams made the accusations of rape and abuse on a Facebook post on October 20. The post details what she claims was a turbulent relationship with White, which began in the early 90s when she was 18-years-old. According to Addams, the relationship grew increasingly abusive with White’s temper becoming more apparent with emotional abuse and fat shaming escalating into physical attacks.

She further alleges that White raped her when he returned from tour when Marilyn Manson were supporting Nine Inch Nails.

"I knew at that point that Jeordie had not been faithful on tour, including being with women whom I to this day respect and considered my musical contemporaries," Addams said. "All this led to an argument I never saw coming. He forced me on to the floor with his hand around my neck. I said NO. I said NO. I said it so loud enough, that [Addams' roommate] Pete came rushing in from the other room to get him off of me. But I had been raped. I had been raped by somebody I thought I loved."

Addams said that although the events took place over 20 years ago, she said hadn’t gone public earlier for fear of her band’s career being damaged.

White released own his statement: "I wish to spend this time with my family and focus on maintaining my several years of sobriety. I will be taking a leave of absence from Marilyn Manson and regrettably will not be performing on the upcoming tour."

White previously left Marilyn Manson in 2003 but later rejoined the band five years later to record The High End Of Low. Marilyn Manson recently curtailed his US tour after stage scenery collapsed on him during a show at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York. He returns to the UK in December. It is unknown who will replace White.
