Fresh from a superb yet controversial hour-long set at 6 Music live the former Smiths frontman is set to go on tour all around the UK and Dublin in February and March next year. See ticket details below.
He kicks off in the easterly city of Aberdeen before cutting back west across to Glasgow, then Dublin, Newcastle, Leeds and Birmingham in February. He winds up in the south East in March with a show on Brighton seafront and two in London; one at The Royal Albert Hall and one in Alexandra Palace.
It is in support of his highly anticipated new album that includes one of the best singles of the year - 'Spent the Day In Bed'.
The band he brought to 6 Music live are an incredible force.
In terms of instrumentation, the live set was a diverse affair. It included accordion, guitars (obvs), slide guitar solos, Spanish singing, didgeridoo and enough percussion to look like they've looted the local drum shop. Morrissey himself even waved a tambourine at one point allowing his backing musician to take centre stage.
It all came together to create a dark, brooding soundscape, fitting for Morrissey's bleak lyrics.
