‘Sit Down’ hitmakers James have announced details of special one-off charity show at Manchester’s Albert Hall on December 18. Billed as “An Intimate Evening with James plus special guests”, the gig will raise money for the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund.
The fund supports people who were injured or bereaved in the terror attack as they were leaving a concert by Ariana Grande at the Manchester Arena on May 22. The attack resulted in 22 people losing their lives and left dozens injured.
Ticket profits from the gig will help alleviate suffering for victims and their families and ensure they do not suffer financial difficulties after the turmoil of the attack.
Speaking of the event in a statement, the veteran Manchester band said: “Very happy to announce this benefit gig that we have been trying to make happen since the atrocity took place. Please excuse our tardiness. We intend to make a memorable night of this intimate gig. With love. James.”
Special guest acts will be announced in the coming weeks for what promises to be a unique and intimate show.
Tickets for the concert go on at 10am, Tuesday, October 31, and are available here.
As reported on Gigwise, Metallica paid their own tribute to the victims of the Manchester bombing on Saturday night (October 28). Playing to a capacity crowd at the re-opened Manchester Arena, the metal titans lead a rousing sing-along of Oasis’ 1996 hit single, ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’, a song that has become Manchester’s unofficial anthem in the wake of the terrorist atrocity.
