Interpol Finish Their New Album

Interpol have completed their much anticipated third album Dan Kessler has revealed.

The New York foursome have been working on the follow up to ‘Antics’ in their home city for the past few months and are in the UK at the moment to mix it.

Kessler told 6Music: "I wrote a lot of songs on my own, and then when we got together in January. We just kinda started going through songs, building them up. There was a really good energy to it.

“We really need to take a break at the end of touring. Everyone needed to return to their own lives, just get back to normal living, so it was a good energy when we picked it up."

He added: "With this record, I think, anything goes. We're a lot more open. It sounds like Interpol. It sounds like our tunes, but there's a lot more atmosphere and sound in general, rather than just filling it up with guitars all the time."

The as yet untitled album is expected to be released in June.
